Roundhegians RFC Newsletter 1

We hope you are all well and keeping safe during the COVID-19 situation.

This is the first newsletter that the Council of Management will send out on regular basis to keep you informed about the club and how it is being managed while it is closed. We are working hard to make sure it will still be a viable club when we come out the other side of this present situation.

The RFU have made the following statement:

‘In order to provide clarity and to assist with immediate and longer term planning, the RFU is today announcing the end of the 2019/20 rugby season for all league, cup and county rugby in England. The only exception to this is the Gallagher Premiership, who we are in active discussions with to review possible best next steps. When current government advice on social distancing measures changes, we will naturally encourage rugby training and friendlies to recommence.’ There is much more detail on the RFU website

Finance

We have assessed the immediate financial future of Roundhegians RFC which has included prioritising  ways that we can reduce our monthly spend. In the short term these measures will enable us to keep going. We are also investigating all the financial options being announced   by the Government

Security

We are putting things in place so that there is a group of people making regular visits to the club to walk round the grounds and to go inside the club. If you live nearby and are willing to be on a rota of people visiting the club grounds  please contact Charles Quick Charles.quick@ntlworld.com

AGM

We had to postpone our AGM and of course at the moment we don’t know when that might happen in the future. Meanwhile in the coming weeks we plan to share all the reports that would have been presented at the meeting. It has been a very successful season for the club on many fronts and I am sure we would all like to share in that success.

Volunteers

Roundhegians  is built on a strong volunteer base and though we are not meeting at the club anymore particularly on Saturdays and Sundays there is now a growing list of different and new tasks that the situation has created. From time to time we will be putting call outs to people with particular skills that can help us navigate this difficult  period.
